Fish Hoek area is currently experiencing higher than normal shark activity. Shark Spotters and trek net fishermen have recorded five sightings since Saturday 1 May and two sightings in Muizenberg on 2 May. The sharks have been seen following schools of yellowtail that are currently being caught in large numbers close to shore along the Fish Hoek side of the False Bay coast. Waters users are asked to be extra vigilant and cautious at this time and not to go swimming when yellowtail are being caught nearby.
