M&G Investments goes Gold

M&G Investments goes Gold

We are thrilled to acknowledge M&G Investments as an ongoing Shark Spotters “Gold” level supporter.  In August 2024, M&G Investments generously donated R20 000 towards our education, community development, and conservation efforts along the False Bay coastline. The funding has been allotted to exciting beach pop-up and clean-up events planned for the holiday period.

For M&G Investments, this donation reflects their longstanding commitment to giving back to their communities. It’s not only about funding, but also lending support and resources to empower organisations like Shark Spotters for sustainable future success.

M&G Investment’s CSI commitments focus on education and skills development as the cornerstone of all individual progress and the ability to achieve a decent standard of living. As such, Shark Spotters efforts to foster care for sharks and the marine environment around Cape Town, while offering employment and skills development opportunities for previously disadvantaged South Africans, is a cause close to their hearts.

Our CSI initiatives are driven by a deep commitment to nurturing human potential, unlocking individual capabilities, and imparting crucial skills to the vibrant young minds within our communities,” explained Sumayya Davenhill, Chair of the M&G Investments CSI committee. “We want to empower South Africans to positively shape their futures and carve out a path to success.”

The company believes that genuine empowerment requires ongoing consistency, unwavering dedication, and a readiness to create lasting impact over the course of many years, much like the long-term vision of Shark Spotters. “Our country faces many social challenges, and to truly make it better, not only for today but for future generations, what we do today must be able to empower well into the future,” says Davenhill.

As Shark Spotters celebrates its 20th birthday, made possible by support of organisations, companies and individuals, we are deeply grateful to M&G Investments for their contribution. We strive to collaborate with individuals and organisations who share our commitment to education and conservation.
